BAKER & ROBERTSON EXPANDS FIRM WITH ADDITION OF ACCOMPLISHED ATTORNEYS

Baker & Robertson is pleased to announce the addition of attorneys Daniel O’Brien and Heather Jones Holmes to the Firm.  Mr. O’Brien joins the Firm* as a Partner and Ms. Holmes serves as a Senior Counsel.  With more than 100 years of combined legal experience, Baker & Robertson provides legal services in civil law matters, including business transactions, real estate, estate planning & probate, and civil trial and appellate matters.

 

Daniel O’Brien Dan's practice will focus on real estate matters, estate planning and probate, and general civil litigation.  He draws on more than 20 years of legal experience, including prior service as a Hays County Court at Law Judge handling thousands of civil and criminal matters. He is an AV-Preeminent® rated lawyer by Martindale-Hubbell and recognized as a Texas Super Lawyer® in the area of General Litigation by the Thompson Reuters rating service. He served as law clerk to Justice Davie L. Wilson of the First Court of Appeals in Houston before working for several years in the commercial litigation section of a large Austin-based law firm.

 

Dan is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin and Baylor University School of Law.  He is a former President and Director of the Hays County Bar Association, a Life Fellow of the Texas Bar Foundation, and a Fellow of the University of Texas School of Hays County Court at Law School of Law's Center for Public Policy Dispute Resolution.  Dan has served in numerous community leadership roles, including as Director of The Burke Center for Youth, the Dripping Springs Chamber of Commerce, and HCWC (Hays-Caldwell Womer's Center).  He is also  a former President and Commissioner of North Hays EMS a Commissioner of the Dripping Springs Emergency Management Commission. 

 

Heather Jones Holmes - Heather’s practice focuses on real estate, commercial lending, estate planning, probate, and civil appeals.  Prior to joining Baker & Robertson, Heather worked for 16 years as a Staff Attorney at the Texas Supreme Court for Justice Phil Johnson and Justice Brett Busby where she worked on hundreds of appeals.  She also gained an insight into the workings of the Texas court system while developing strong research and writing skills.  Heather previously worked as a law clerk to Justice Charles Seymore at the Fourteenth Court of Appeals and as committee counsel for the Texas Senate State Affairs Committee, chaired by Senator Robert Duncan.  She is an honors graduate of the University of Texas School of Law where she served as Notes Editor for the Texas Law Review.  She graduated magna cum laude from San Houston State University.
